Providing hope, healing, and a safe haven for those touched by cancer.

The team behind Faye’s House

Every Hospitality House needs great people to keep the home clean, safe and welcoming, especially for those coming to Spokane for cancer treatment. Mary and Dan Shegrud are the house managers for Because There Is Hope’s “Hospitality House”, Faye’s House. They have been the resident hosts since January 2016. Along with their dog Copper, they try to make everyone who stays at Faye’s House feel like family. Through the years Mary and Dan have made lifelong friends with many of the guests that have spent time at the house. They stay very busy, and when there’s time Dan enjoys going fishing in his boat he has dubed Bob. While working a full time job elsewhere, Dan has recently finished and published his latest novel. Mary fills her extra time with gardening, quilt making and crochet. Her newest interest is taking English dressage horse riding lessons.

Included is a message from a past guest at Faye’s House.  “This is 100% better than staying at a motel. Very homey atmosphere. We cooked our meals and socialized with house managers and another guest”. – Virginia, Orofino, ID
